June 22, 2008 :: Things are finally getting a move on with tattoo work. I've got some awesome clients and I'm getting better by the day. Truthfully, I only had to practice on fake skin to prepare for real tattoo work. No pig parts, damp cellars, or initiations to be found, aside from an enthusiastic hand shake and some good conversation. Wizard World Chcago starts this friday, so I'll be throwing my weight around the windy city this weekend with the debut of my graphic novel prologue. for more info visit my art blog. I'll be back next week with another comic fo sho! Peace!

June 8, 2008 :: So.... where to begin... Well, I almost called it quits with the comic. I've got more going on in my life than ever before, and the comic is definitely suffering from that. However, the work that I'm into now is much needed and very awesome. I'm tattooing at Voluta Tattoo Studio now, plugging away at getting ready for Wizard World Comic Con at the end of the month, and trying to produce more original art on a consistant basis. Thanks to a couple of motivational speeches about the popularity of Rogue Robot, and the personal development I get from the consistant drawing of the comic, I've decided to lump it all on top of the rest of work and fully emerse myself in all things art in my life. Thus my plan is to continue RR on an every-week-or-so basis, and try to really stick to it this time. I'm really greatful to the fans out there, and hopefully Ben is on board from writing some more matierial. See you all soon with the next strip!
Much love,
Amory

April 3, 2008 :: Hi Everyone, sorry for the time away. I've been getting ready for my show tomorrow in Fountain Square. The comic has taken a back seat to new work, a comission piece, etc. Anyway, enjoy the new strip, and I'll be updating more often (hopefully). Peace out.

February 11, 2008 :: We've got a fun series going now, Ben will be updating us with different plans for presidency. I think if you are having a difficult time with our present candidates, once you hear what Ben has to say, the choice will be clear. Back soon with more!

January 18, 2008 :: Wait! I can Explain! .... Well, no I don't really have an excuse. I've been up to my neck in artwork over the last few weeks, hence the month-long wait for a comic. Ben sent me some good strips, so I'll be doing more now that we've got a direction. This will be the first strip written [mostly] by Ben that we've done in about 50 strips! Oh Dang! Anyway, if you want to know what I've been up to that's SO IMPORTANT that I can't update RR, go check out my blog. Iv'e got it all out and in plain view, the rediculous amount of art I've been working on. See you sooner than later.

December 2, 2007 :: Okay, here's the latest. I'm playing around with merging the voice bubbles with the panel outline, so it creates a more dynamic look to each frame. I've been feeling that our panel structure is too boxy and boring. I've also been really lazy about getting comics done, but I've made up for it by listening to an ungodly amount of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. My friend Nate and I made the greatest Bone mix ever back in 2004, and I'm considering it the definitive sampler of the very best of Bone. The Bone-lovers out there would appreciate it's mix of great songs that weren't big hit singles, and those with untrained Bone-ears will certainly whisper an "Oh dang" before the end of the compilation. I'd tell you the track list, but I don't want to be held responsible for all the crazy "Boners" running around wild in the streets because my mix got them pumped up out of their minds.

November 26, 2007 :: Dang, I'm really lagging behind. I'll get a comic up soon, I promise.

November 9, 2007 :: I'm running out the door to a meeting right now, but I'll take a minute to finally reach out again to the fans! Sorry I haven't posted as of late, I've been busy trying to get married, going overseas, throwing the halloween party, fixing up the house, buying a rad new car, etc... If you want to se my car resotration blog it's at http://67firebird.wordpress.com/, but don't judge me based on the fact that I used a cheesy blog template. It was easy and I didn't have to thing about it, dammit. Oh, and Amory said he was going to update 5 times a week again! How cool is that? What, what? Uh-oh, gotta go.

November 6, 2007 :: It's been a while... Pretty much the whole month of October. To recap: Ben and Michelle eloped in Europe, Checkeye shaved off his lovely locks and is now chrome domed, and I got fed up enough with my retail job to finally quit. I'm working over at MoJoe's Coffee House now, and it's very very awesome. I've been busy doing some design work for the Wheeler Arts Community (my place), logo and postcard design, a couple new pieces for the Strange Fruit Show here, and some chalk murals for Indy.com. Pics of the murals are up on my art blog. Now that I'm not working 50 hours a week, I think I'll have more time to bump out some new comics on a more regular schedule, but don't hold your breath, I'm an olympic gold procrastinator. I'll reiterate: More soon.

October 2, 2007 :: Got things rolling with the comic again, it's good to be back in it. INtake Magazine has started running RR in color, along with the other folks from Indy Webcomics Group. I just got my new business cards in the mail yesterday. They've got my amoryabbott.com site on them, and a new layout. Nice and clean. Laters!

September 27, 2007 :: WOW, It's been the longest break from comics ever!!! A lot has happened since the last comic. I won Art vs. Art, Kristen's moved out to Edwardsville, IL for Grad School, Ben and Michelle supposedly got MARRIED in EUROPE (Holy SHIT), and I finally purchased the domain name to amoryabbott.com for my new revamped website interface!!! Whew... Not to mention the Graphic Novel I started last month is coming along nicely, and the Art Blog is still the place to be. There's a bunch of fun things to check out there, so go if you haven't been! Is that it? I don't know, but life's moving at break-neck speed. I've gone back to black outlines for the comic, mainly because it cuts about an hour out of the process when I don't have to get super-tedious with fill color shades and what not. Miss the old style? tough! See you all soon.

September 2, 2007 :: Got my computer back online after a few days of dispair and malfunction. The Art Blog is going good, I've got a few new scans from my graphic novel up now, and more on the way. Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the 3-day weekend. I've had a lot of financial trouble the last couple weeks, and coming to terms with being poor kind of inspired today's comic.

August 28, 2007 :: As you may have noticed, I've started a new Art Blog for my super-mega fanbase. I'm going to be saving my portfolio for my best stuff, and my blog will now be where I dump all work that gets done. That way I don't have to keep updating my portfolio! So go see it, subscribe to it, love it, miss it, jonze for it, and crave more! I'll be posting there a WHOLE bunch. I'll have a comic up tonight or tomorrow, so stay calm.
P.S.- Aesop Rock's new album dropped today, and it's the mad illest shit I've ever heard. More than space or math. Go get it! You'll like it.

August 10, 2007 :: The next 3 comics out today, monday, and wednesday are all built from one comic drawing, but the frames are mixed around and different dialogue in each. Kristen and I went out to Deano's Vino last night and brainstormed on dialogue. We came up with 3 different but equally funny strips, so I decided to make them all. I'll be in Chicago this weekend visiting Josh at the Wizards World Expo, and hitting up the Zoo. I decided to quit my job as a shoe salesman, it's getting to me too much. I've got some good freelance gigs coming up, and a one-man show opening on the 17th. Check out the details HERE. See you on Monday.

July 18, 2007 :: Okay, I've finally updated. Ben called me the other day with some news about his new car- the infamous '67 Pontiac Firebird 400. I'm sure he'll be blogging about it here, but you're welcome to check out the Wordpress Blog he made for it. I don't know how big of a dork you have to be to make a blog dedicated to your car, but I'm pretty sure you have to be a seriously huge one. Regardless, he's pretty pumped about getting it, and I'm looking forward to driving it around the block, even if it takes a whole tank of gas to do so. VRRRROOOOOMMMM. See you all soon with another post. We're on our 5th printed comic in INtake, oh, the glorious exposure. I do feel bad that I've managed to miss every meeting of the Indy Webcomic Group. But you should check out the site, all locally grown webcomics from Indianapolites.
Oh, check this out too. I'm a fictional progression of future wars.

July 7, 2007 :: I'll be in Canada until Saturday the 14th visiting my folks on Manitoulain Island. If you don't know where it is, check it out! five days with no electricity and no running water. I can't wait to get out of Indy. See you all then with an update, sorry I've been so lazy avout updating. Have a good week.

July 1, 2007 :: I'm starting to feel the pressure of corporate sales tactics. Up-selling, mutiple-sales tracking, hourly and monthly sales goals, etc. It's fun and I have to wear a suit and tie to work, but I enjoy the atmosphere, aside from the snooty rich Carmel wives returning 3-year-old shoes they've worn out, expecting a full refund. Ungreatful hags. I won't tel you where I work, but we'll just say it rhymes with "Bordsgrum." Hope you like the new strip, and enjoy our 3rd published strip in INtake magazine this week. I've also got a one-man gallery show coming up in August at the Indy Hostel, opening the same weekend as GenCon. I'll have more info about it soon. Keep the reading and I'll keep 'em coming. Seacrest out.
P.S. - Happy birthday to my long-time buddy Nate Beckman, friends since 5th grade. And thats on the real. WORD.

June 19, 2007 :: Been working on some new business cards for Ben and I, I've got mine done and thought you'd like to check it out before the printing. Here it is, a little more personalized and up-to-date with my newer style.

June 16, 2007 :: I just finished moving into my new apartment at the Wheeler Arts Community. It's friggin amazing. Now that I'm settled in and finally have internet service, I'm gonig to try and update much more often. The last month has been an all-time low in comic production. I've got a new job selling Womens' shoes, and the 93 hours I've put in over the last few weeks, along with moving, has put me a little over the edge. I'll be back to normal soon, so please don't lose hope that there will be more RR strips more frequently. We've had 2 strips run in INtake weekly so far, and anxiously await our 3rd. Hope you're all doing well and we'll see you back soon!

May 22, 2007 :: I can't believe I've only done 2 comics so far all month! I've got to get back in gear, sorry folks. I'll be moving twice over the next 2 weeks, and I'm already back in Indianapolis for good now, so hooray for that. Today's comic is the first written strip from Ben that I've done in months. Hope you all like it. There's only a week or so left to come see the Deux Hommes show at Corner Coffee. I'll also have some things up in the 2nd floor hallway and Josh's apartment for the 1st Friday June open house at the Wheeler. I'll try to get more comics out on a frequent basis, but I can't make any promises, I'm going to be crazy busy. See you all soon!

May 16, 2007 :: So Jerry Falwell died. I guess Larry Flynt wins in the end. Oh, and I've got my halloween costume idea now. Oh, and I have a story about pirates...
Five pirates and one woman wash up on a desert island after a shipwreck. Before long they are all getting pretty horny so they all make a deal. Each pirate will marry the woman for one week at a time, at which point the next pirate in line will marry her and so on. All the pirates get sex every five weeks and the woman gets sex as often as she wants with a different pirate each week. The situation works wonderfully for five years. When the woman suddenly dies... The first week after wasn't too bad. The second week was getting sort of bad. The third week was getting pretty bad. The fourth week was really bad. The fifth week was horrible! By the sixth week it was unbearable... So they buried her.

May 6, 2007 :: WOW it took me a long time to update. I've got the Deux Hommes show up for the rest of the month, so go check it out! All new illustrative works by the world-renowned Amory Abbott! Woo-hoo! So anyway, I just got back from a weekend in the recently rain-drenched Smoky Mountains. 3-day trip turned into 2 days when we got completely soaked and had no way to dry out or warm up. Hiked out early and I feel much better. Still an awesome trip though. Alright, sleep time. More frequent updates now, I promise.

April 16, 2007 :: Sorry for the delay on a comic, I'll have one up tomorrow. Since last update I've been laid off my job, trying to collect unemployment, moved down to Bloomington, had only a dail-up connection to work with, and too busy doing house repairs to draw. Ugh. On the bright side, I've got a show coming up with Josh Johnson at the coffee shop on May 1st. It'll go all month, so make sure to check it out. I'll have more info about it on my portfolio page soon. Also speaking of My Portfolio, if you visit, you'll see I've updated some new paintings and have some prints for sale. Go buy some and help me continue to scrape by. We're also anticipating having Rogue Robot printed in INtake magazine. We've joined a pool of local webcomics that will be run weekly in the magazine. Not sure when the first issue will be, but keep your eyes peeled. We're going to PRINT, bitches. boo-ya.

March 23, 2007 :: Don't forget to go to ROLLER DERBY this weekend.

March 19, 2007 :: This concludes the "Bot of Monte Cristo" series. Ben's got more stories comig up, so keep checking back. I'll have another comic up by friday, and hopefully a new story line started by next monday. Talk to you all then!

March 16, 2007 :: So we got mentioned in USA Today, apparently. And that's why we are the coolest fuckers ever. So Amory had a birthday last week, as did Kristen, and I have one this week so you know what that means... It means all our parents like to do their fuckin' in June. So, I tell you what, If you want to help celebrate my birthday, put on something green and go out drinking. I'm part Irish, so decorate with things like shamrocks and leprechans and drink all sorts of beer. This is just an expriment to see how many fans we have, so if you are out and see someone dressed in green and having a good ol' time celebrating my birthday, let 'em know that you're a rouge robot fan, too!

March 16, 2007 :: ATTENTION! my PORTFOLIO SITE is finally finished and has gone live! Check out the icon at the bottom left of the strip, or click the text link. All it took was 1/2 an hour with a dreamweaver tutorial and another 6 hours of trial and error, and poof! Here it is. I'll be updating the art categories as time goes by and I get more stuff scanned. Hope you enjoy the mind-explosion that is my art. Talk to you all soon.

March 15, 2007 :: Got this quickie strip from Ben the other day, and I'll have the next one up for Monday. The Robot's still working on his story of vengence, but stuff's been happening in the meantime that I figure would make good comics. Anyway, it sounds like the Robot is almost ready to post his next episode, so we'll see if it happens tomorrow. Catch you all on the flipside.

March 08, 2007 :: So I went to Scott McCloud's free lecture last night at IUPUI. The Auditorium had very limited seating and we got moved to another room. The streaming projectors showing the lecture were muted for the first 15 minutes, and had a 5 minute screen saver, so someone had to get up every so often and move the cursor. DAMN, School of Informatics... Get your shit together! Good lecture, though. For the comic artists out there who don't know Scott McCloud, get his book "Making Comics." It may just be your new Bible if you're stuggling with where to start. On another note, Tomorrow is my birthday! (the 9th) I'll be going to see "300" tomorrow night at Circle Centre if any of you want to join me. I think the show's at 7:10pm at which time I'll be celebrating my 27th. So get your ass there and say hi! And bring me some friggin' presents!

March 02, 2007 :: So the Robot locked itself in the computer room after the last comic, and refuses to come out until it's painted comic vision is complete. I have a feeling it's going to involve some revenge on Ben and I for taking over the comic named after the robot, which rarely stars, or even involves it. In other news, I'm finally updating the site, and our Indianapolis readers need to keep an eye out for an article in the Indianapolis Star this week, showcasing Rogue Robot and other local webcomcs. Finally some local patronage! Also, my birthday is next friday (the 9th), so feel free to send me a present or two or three. See you soon as the suspense continues with the Robot's vendetta.

February 19, 2007 :: So it's been 3 weeks since a post. I'm really sorry folks. I'm going to get back on top of making comics on a twice-weekly basis, but I can't make any promises. I agree with Matt Milby on this, and I don't want making comics to feel like a burden, I want to keep wanting to make them, so I'm going to say "two-a-week" but I won't say when. We've gotten some comedic criticism for not including the robot more considering the comic is named after it. Therefore, the new title of this next story line is "Rogue Robot." We're trying our damnest to get it back in the strip and as a main character, so get ready for some robot of the rougeable kind. I'm pretty sure "Rogueable" is a word. See you later this week!

January 27, 2007 :: WORD! I made my first painting in Corel Painter IX today, a tribute to my favorite illsutrator Ashley Wood. And since I don't have any new material from Ben, I put it in a comic! Painter is friggin awesome, I'm so glad I finally got it. I'll be busting out more Rogue Robot paintings from time to time as filler strips, but for now, all the abstract gallery painters out there can appreciate their asses being handed to them. Shout out to my buddy Reagan- Good to see you at the coffee shop yesterday. See you all Monday!

January 21, 2007 :: Man, I haven't written in a while. So the Colts won the AFC title tonight and are going to the SuperBowl. Pretty awesome. I'd have to say, you could despise football completely (I almost did), and the game tonight would still make you a fan. God DAMN, they were awesome! Anyway, I whipped up this victory comic for you all, so if you're reading this comic in New England: EAT IT. Also, last friday's comic was dedicated to Michelle and the rest of the Indianapolis Tornado Sirens' cherry-stompin' debut Roller Derby where they OWNED Tennessee. Michelle got kicked out at the end of the game for too many fouls. She's tough, man. I'm doing come tribute comics and such until Ben gets me some more material, so maybe we'll have a new storyline coming up, or at least those wince-and-shake-your-head type strips you love so much. See you on the Friday.

January 05, 2007 :: Happy New Year, everyone! Glad to see you're still here and keeping up with RR. We punched out this comic quick before anyone else thought of the idea. I think it's pretty damn funny. Kristen if finally back from Australia, and jetlagged bigtime. I've got the day of of work and will be starting my submission for Spectrum 14.See you all Monday!

December 29, 2006 :: For Christmas my
Dad got me a book on the history, use, and blueprints for ancient CATAPULTS. So Dad and I built a scaled-down "Friction Trebuchet" out of PVC and bolts. It's nickname in the book is "God's Stone Thrower." So my buddy Daver came over the other night and we spent a couple hours launching carved Potato spheres and hot sauce packets off my 9th floor balcony. Most of them only made it to the street, some further, and we were just getting the hang of it. I managed to launch an old frozen Lean Pocket into a big puddle in street. it was... oh, what's the word..... oh yeah: Awesome. Today's comic is dedicated to that night. Hope you all had good holidays! See you Monday.

December 23, 2006 :: Okay, so there were no comics last week. Sorry. I think with my new work schedule we're going to have to cut the comic back to 2 days a week. So lets say from now on, we're updating Mondays and Fridays. OK? I've experiemented with a new style and the comic is back to black outlines but has more detail, Comments? feelings? Also in today's comic, Ben didn't actually need crutches after the accident, and as far as I know, I'm the only one who's made fun of him for it. That Nintendo Wii really tests your physical limits. I'll see you all on Monday with a Christmas comic! Happy Holidays!

December 14, 2006 :: The Wii comic has been put off until Monday in order to pay respects to Peter Boyle and his acting Legacy. Rest in Peace, Petey B.
In more entertaining news,
I spent over 6 hours looking at boobs today, redesigning a "Breast Augmentation" Newsletter for some rich surgeons in Carmel. Fake boobies are gross, but boobs in general are good, so I guess it's a tie. I was having a mediocre day, but it's getting better on account of it being Macaroni time. See you Monday.

December 14, 2006 :: So I met the Governor and his wife yesterday at this tree trimming ceremony which prominently features my work. I had done all the design for the "Heart to Heart" campaign, which has proven very popular here in Indy, so the First Lady's chief of staff asked me to come meet them. It was fun, but so uncomfortably official. If you don't believe me, here's a picture from the paper.

See! I'm awesome! Anyway, I have big important things to go do right now, so I don't have time for all of you. I'm too big-headed now. Instead, I'll just be recycling jokes from Family Circus. Tootles!

December 11, 2006 :: I think I saved over Ben's posts about us having a winner for the Braille Shirt Deciphering Contest, so once again, It's Torrey Long from Midland, Michigan! I'll have a strip up with you in it on Wednesday Torrey, and some promo goodies in the mail by the end of the week. Hope you're all still enjoying the comics, Ben's got some more writing to do for more material. I've pretty much exhausted our supply. On a fun note, Friday's comic will be about Ben and his new Nintendo Wii, which I had the pleasure of playing the other night. Pretty awesome, now I just have to wait for March to roll around so I can find one. Dang!

December 01, 2006 :: For the sake of argument, let's say there is a Hell. And let's say this Hell is reserved for sinners, including people who use Jesus Christ's Martyrdom as a means of extremely tasteless humor. So with that said, and under this pretext knowing that Ben and I would DEFINATELY be going to Hell, I'm just going to let this comic run through the weekend. On a separate note, if you're going to be in town tonight, and can get down to the TOYS SHOW on Mass ave, I'll see you there. Come and Meet my parents! My Aunt and Uncle from Africa, Kristen, my Boss, my other friends, and see some awesome art. I hope you all can make it, and I'll see you Monday with a fresh and possibly less Hell-condemning strip. Happy December!

November 28, 2006 :: Ah... that's better. This is a comic that Ben just sent me a few days ago. I really like it. Here's a Rogue Robot fun fact: this is the first comic I've ever done in one sitting that took me under 2 hours. Blazed through it. Also, the first one to translate the braille on Ralph's shirt wins a prize, and also will know the next Ultimate Rogue Robot Trivia Answer!!! Can you decipher it? Email us the answer and we'll send you something pretty in time for Christmas!
-Amory

November 27, 2006 :: UGH. I just finished my submission for TOYS. It's too late to do a comic, I'll do one tomorrow night, now that I've got free nights. Once again, I'm sorry for not getting many strips up lately. It's not that I don't want to do them (I'm actually really missing it), but there's just been too much going on to update. For those of you who may be spreading rumors that RR isn't going to continue- BALDERDASH! Rogue Robot will not come to it's end any time soon. Thanks for being patient with me, and I hope you check back soon for a new strip. Laters.

November 19, 2006 :: OFFICIAL ROGUE ROBOT NOTICE:
The next Comic will be up Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I'm going to be out of town and overall just too busy to get any strips done before Thanksgiving. Sorry for the lack of recent stuff, everyone. But make sure to check back Friday for an update! Until then- Have a happy Turkey Day. Much Love.

November 13, 2006 :: Hi everybody, Big News! I just got a professional full-time job at Hotbed Creative, a design company just a few doors down from the Coffee shop. So with the overlap of starting there and my final days at my old jobs, I've been working 2-job, 10 hour days since Thursday. Ugh, I'm remodeling my cousin's bathroom in Irvington as well, so I won't have much free time until next weekend. I'm going to try my best to get comics up on time this week, but bear with me. I'm so pumped about my new job! As for today's comic, Checkeye and Zane were originally scripted to be hang-gliding in this strip, but I fiddled with the location for more hairy / flabbiness appeal. I think it does alright.

November 06, 2006 :: Well I'm on a roll with old comics. Today's is another one that Ben wrote a while ago, and I've actually trimmed down the waists and arms on my female figues more recently, but made Michelle a little stocky for this comic, just to exaggerate the difference between her and Hottie McHotstuff. I'll be working on my entry piece for Toys over the next couple weeks, and I'm also starting a subbmission piece for Spectrum 14, a sci-fi / fantasy Illustration Annual (Dragons and Wizards and rediculous shit I never draw... it should be a blast). Lots goin' on, but I'll keep the stips coming.

November 03, 2006 :: Today's comic is actually a strip that Ben sent me a loooong time ago, right before the "Bag-o-Cash" series about Checkeye buying the coffee shop. That was sometime in late April I think. Anyway. I thought it would be a good comic to start back up with. Some super-stylin' strippage on the get-fresh tip, 'yall. Word. Hope you all have a good weekend, see you on Monday's update.

October 31, 2006 :: So I missed the halloween party because I was up in Chicago seeing a show. Oh well... Next year then! As for excuses, I've been battling viruses and worms and adware/spyware on my computer since the day I got back from the windy city. I've had my computer in and out of safe mode so many times you'd think it was a victim of child abuse. Regardless, I've got it all cleared up and will have # 201 up on Friday, The start of our third reign. Much love goes out to our reader in England (the only one?) who digs Ben's monkey drawings, as well as his drawing style of the comic, and all that jazz. I agree... if only I could draw as good as him... I could someday start a web comic with him and he could write the strips and I could illustrate them, and we would call it.... oh, I don't know.... ROGUE ROBOT or something. Just kidding buddy. People tell me they love my script-writing all the time, when I honestly don't write a damn thing. Ben's the genius behind it, and I draw the pictures. Wish I could say it was good to see Matt Milby, but then I'd be lying, and everyone would think that was me in the Wonder Woman outfit, serving up punishment. Sorry to miss you Matt, how about S.P.A.C.E.? See you all Friday.

October 31, 2006 :: First off, thanks to everyone who came to the Halloween party. All 700 of you, especially Mandy Marie and The Cool Hand Lukes. I regained my sense of sight today, by the way. Our comrade in comickry, Matt Milby came all the way from Columbus Ohio and you can see his response at Malfunction Junction. On another, completely different note, I was bowled over with some awesome news this morning: Guitar Hero 2 features a bonus track of "TROGDOR the Burninator"!!! Oh, happy day! I'm not that big into video games, but holey mother of awesome!

October 24, 2006 :: I especially like how completely DUMB I look in the 3rd frame of Monday's comic. Also in the first and last frames my right arm (your left) is really long! I just noticed that. It's funny how I sometimes don't see those weird things until I've been finished for a while. Plus, Jason's orange short-sleeve dress shirt has somehow become a hoodie as well. Anyway, I think tomorrow's comic is going to be about Ben and Porno. Whether or not we've done many comics with that specific subject combination, it frequents my thoughts for some reason when I think of Rogue Robot. It must be latent psychological mental imagery triggered by the indecency of this particular comic strip, the same way that Malfunction Junction makes me automatically think of profanity and fresh snow. Winter's just around the corner Matt Milby! (Sorry, I have no idea what that's supposed to mean) Attention all Rogue Robot Fans: Check back Friday for Comic Number 200!!! Our Bicentennial, if you will. It should be more entertaining than a four-buckle overshoe, and possibly just as stupid. See you Friday.

October 23, 2006 :: Dammit.... I KNOW, I KNOW..... I'll have the comic up by tonight... I'm sorry everybody. I got carried away with other computer issues, and then just got discouraged and really couldn't sit down and draw. I'll get it done tomorrow afternoon, and have it up so you can check it right before you go have supper, and then sit and laugh about it at the dinner table. he he, ha ha. Okay. On another note, I've been invited to participate in the "Toys" show put on by Primary Colours in December. You can't see, but I'm blushing a bit. I'll have more info up in a little bit, but you'd better come and see it, and as for going and doing things, GO TO THE HALLOWEEN PARTY!!! Also, Ben put an "E-Mail Us" icon under the comic area, so you can send Ben ideas for the 200th Comic coming up on Friday. Chances are I'll just do one of my ideas, unless someone comes up with something worthwhile. :) Oh so fun...

October 16, 2006 :: Okay, so the Halloween Party is almost here again, so start thinking about costumes and stuff.

October 14, 2006 :: I know it's only been a day, but I wanted to write anyways. Friday's comic has a couple new things in it. For example, I tried breaking the frames with the voice bubbles, and Kristen's hair is a little longer and a teeny bit messy. Do you like the Bubbles outside the lines? let me know at amoryabbott@gmail.com if you want. Also, as I've done before, Here's another Rogue Robot super-trivia revealed: This Friday's comic is the first comic in which I've given Checkeye ears. Well, one ear to be precise. I've always just had his birdnesty locks covering them. So much fun in the details. So we've got a pseudo-sugesstion box blogged on the Rogue Robot Myspace page for ideas on our 200th Comic. If you've been a long-time reader, or have dabbled in the archives you might remember our 100th comic of Ben and I frolicking naked through a magical flowery meadow. We'd like to top that. I know it'll be hard, but send us your ideas via our Myspace comment box! I figured for some extra fun, I'd showcase another drawing I did for a good friend of mine who's in Arizona at the moment. Andy, if you're reading this, THIS is for you (I'll have a larger glossy print in the mail soon). I know it's not an invisible flying ninja monkey, but a see-thru version just didn't do it justice. I'll have some other fun images up every now and then, to keep you entertained. Hope you all stick around! Kudos to you all.

October 13, 2006 :: Hi Folks, Happy friday the 13th. I can only imagine how many goth uber-nerd L.A.R.P. fanatics are all telling eachother "Dude, I don't know why, but Friday the thirteenth has always been my lucky day. I must really be in touch with my vampire masters today or something." Oh, and on another note- If you play Vampire of the Masquerade, you're gay. That's about all there is to it. Only someone, with abolutely no life whatsoever, would waste their time with fake fangs and black capes. Quit living in the mystical blood thristy gotham, take pride in your own life and who you really are, and if you're like someone I know, (I won't name names, but his starts with a T and ends with -yson), buy some stilts. Ahh.... I've wanted to say that for years. Okay. Back to today- I don't have a comic up because I was working on THIS for INtake's new artsy section. Like it? YOU LOVE IT! I'll have a strip up by the end of the day (hopefully). I'm getting into the habit of not getting Friday's comic done. Ugh. Gotta get on it. See you on Monday.

October 09, 2006 :: It's good to see weapons getting more and more consealed. What next, a cell phone gun? Oh wait, that's already here. Nokia is fucking crazy. Anyway, I'm back at it with comics this week, and sorry for no comic on friday, if you want to see what I did instead, check out my profile pic on myspace. You can get there by following the RR myspace link, and then looking for me in the friends list (DUH). Okay, well the Arizona thing is on hold for a while, may be a month, may be 6 months, we'll see. In the meantime, I'll be staying right here in Indy, spawning humorous illegitimate comics, bred of Ben and I's Silly Juice. Ahhh.... I can taste the joyful atrocities! Muchos huevos, hombre. Hoy Manana.

October 05, 2006 :: The scariest thing I've ever seen. And here's another version of it.

October 02, 2006 :: So I'm back on the horse, per say. I'm out of the doldrums and into full swing with the comic. This week's comics will be a little on the heavy side of wrong. Ben's got some whippersnappers for you and I'm just bringing them to life, so bear with me. I'm almost scared to post them, but I think it's in everyones best interest to enjoy them as much as possible, even if it takes regretting you ever read them. Haha. You KNOW you'll love 'em!
In other news.....Some recent opportunities have come up in the last two days that are very exciting, and not to get all uppity and ahead of myself, but it would have something to do with storyboards and concept design for a company in Arizona. I've barely touched the surface of this possibility, but the excited part of my brain is already thinking of cactus-print pajamas. I've got to take it easy, just talk is in the works as of yet, but hopefully very soon I'll be drawing some mock-ups and teaser images for them to check out. I know I'm ready for this, and I don't want to pass it up, so I'll do everything I can to show 'em I've got what it takes. I'm going to stop here and finish my mental masturbation in the privacy of my own home. I'm calm on the outside, but my mind is going like this. That's it. See you soon. And keep your fingers crossed for me!

September 29, 2006 :: Things have been pretty outlandish and hectic this week, so please bear with me while I take longer on getting comics up. I'm working way too much and there's too many tangents to speak of. I'll have the next comic up on Monday. Thanks for your patience.

September 27, 2006 :: So I got REALLY lazy yesterday and decided to not do a comic. Luckly, I had an awesome Guest Strip in the vault from Jason Higgs, my best friend in real life and older brother in the comic. I recieved a phone call from Jason after Comic #173: Ninjas vs. Pirates part 5, and got a quick through-the-phone slap from him on what would have really happened in that comic. (If you're not familiar with the old strip, check it out in the drop-down archive) Needless to say, Jason put his skills to use and re-wrote the strip for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

September 25, 2006 :: Sorry for the late comic. Kristen got sick and I had to cover her shift at the coffee shop. So I got the day off today instead and am finally caugh up on sleep. Also, Kristen and I finished putting her bike together after the new paint job, named her Delilah, and here she is!

Friggin beautiful! She definately has the coolest bike in town. Also, I'll try to have the rest of the weeks comics up on time.

September 24, 2006 :: I'll be getting to Monday's comic here in a little while, but for now, I'm going to showcase a couple of fun little cards I made to put in my Bicycle spokes:

Something totally wicked for you Zelda fans out there, and a re-vamp of a VG Cats t-shirt image. Totally Sweet.

September 22, 2006 :: Almost October already... dang! So this series is coming to an end, and we'll be back to a week or two of solo strips until our next endeavor. Hope you all like the mildly simplified style. I'm trying to focus a little more on backgrounds, and at least making them look nice if I don't have anything in them. We'll hit comic #200 in less than a month. crazy! It seems like just yesterday that I was drawing pictures of Ben and I with giant schlongs, running through a Pegacorn-enchanted field of wildlowers. Ah those misty days. On another note, I was thinking that since we don't have anything in the form of contact info on our site, I'd leave my e-mail address here for anyone who wants to get ahold of me. It's amoryabbott@gmail.com. I'd be happy to answer any questions or blurbs anyone might have regarding the comic and/or the amazing life of one Amory Abbott. See you all Monday.

September 18, 2006 :: So I've gotten back in the bad habit of working on the comic super late the night before. So I'm back to staying up till 3 or 4 in the morning. I'm going to try and get back on a comic-in-the-morning schedule, so I can take my time and not rush through it. I like all the little Ben's in todays comic. If Ben actually sold his "love gravy," I think the Government should release an alert on the hazards of raising or fostering a Ben Child. There should at least be a Surgeon General Warning on the test tube.

September 16, 2006 :: Damn. The comic was late! AGAIN! I'm sorry, I've been absolutely swamped with work since I got back from Canada. I promise to have all comics up on time next week! Anyway, Kristen and I are finishing up the most amazing paint job on her new bike frame. It's wicked. I'll have a pic of it up as soon as it's done. I'm totally enjoying the series so far, and it only gets funnier. I've been working on better and possibly dumber expressions on Checkeye and I's faces. I think it's working. Ahhh... Rogue Robot.... You are glorious. See you Monday with part 4!

September 11, 2006 :: A day which will live in infamy. Five years... Meh... Anyway, today's comic is the first in a few-week series about me getting shot at work. Let me make something clear though: I did not actually get shot at work. So don't bother emailing or calling me all concerned, wondering if I really did. When we did the storyline about Corner Coffee getting sold to Ben, I got a bunch of funny concerned messages wondering if the shop really foreclosed. The Comic is simply based on our lives, not an autobiography... Although, it would make a totally sweet autobiography if it was.
Oh, I was driving up Washington Blvd. last week and saw one of those plastic yard signs (ususally used for electoral propaganda) which read: "9/11: Never Forget." My question is- How in the hell is anyone going to forget September 11th? That's like reminding us that Pearl Harbor happened, or that Kennedy was assassinated. I'm going to go put up my own "never forget" signs, and they're going to have powerful, heart-felt, memorial tributes like: "AIDS: it's real." or "HUMANS: that's us." or how about this: "WATER: it's wet." Gimmie a break. We all remember, we're all really upset that it happened, and we're all OK. Like that old U.S.S. Indianapolis survivor who sits in O'Malia's grocery all day, selling t-shirts, hats, and cheesy oil paintings of WW2 aircraft. Why live a life in regret and sorrow? Take my advice: Cheer up, get out, and have fun with your short, meaningful lives. I'll be talking about my self-help book and "better-life-now" excersize plan at Corner Coffee this Wednesday evening from 5 to 7pm. Come see what the gossip is all about, and then maybe you can help me mop the floor and do some dishes.
Best Wishes, Amory

September 07, 2006 :: IM BAAACK! Had a great time in Canada, Good to see Mum, and collect magical pinecones. Matt's comic was hysterical, and also got me thinking about our beloved robot, the poor bastard. I'll bring him back more often, fo sho. With all the time off, had some time to reflect on the comic, so I'll be experimenting with a slightly simpler, smoother style. Not far off from normal, just tweaked a little. Alright, enjoy Friday's comic! I'm back, refreshed, and ready to get a new storyline going on Moday. Fuckin' A, eh?

Sorry about falling off the planet like that, we've been on a vacation of sorts. Amory's still running around in the middle of the woods somewhere with a spear and magical pinecone, and I'm not sure when he's coming back. I'd guess he'll be home soon, and have an all new RR for monday, but I won't bet my house on it. Speaking of which, working on my house is how I spent my vacation, which is exciting. Well, not really, but I did find a really cool cocoon! Oh, and special thanks to Matt Milby of Malfunction Junction! He did today's guest comic, and it's spectacular! I like talking with exclamation points!

August 29, 2006 :: So far, not a single person has sent it a guest comic, or even contacted us about it, which makes Amory sad. Tell you what, if you want to just email them to me, you can send tham to rogue_robot_ben@hotmail.com, okay? Our biggest sponsor, who hooks us up with bandwidth, has a fantastic new service they are providing called "Host My Drive" which is linked with the little ad banner over to the right. Definitely check it out, it's a great way to keep backup files offsite, or access stuff between work and home. And let's say you have a billion MP3s clogging up your hard drive... this is a great way to clean up some space!

August 28, 2006 :: Yeah, so get this: I drew a fucking comic with my TOUCHPAD. It was actually one of the funniest things I've done in a while. Well, as far as laughing at how retarded my drawings looked while making them. I'm not going to say this is a great comic, but screw it. Oh, Ben- don't worry, you didn't ruin my vacation. I'm having a blast, and thanks to you, I didn't have to spend a boring night in the room with nothing to do. We're leaving for Manitoulin in the morning, so this really is the last time I'll be checking in until I get home. Mr. Milby- how 'bout a guest strip? or Matt Skillern, whaddya say? anyone named Matt, or anyone who can draw, or really just anyone that wants to do a guest strip, send it in, it doesn't even have to be funny, just make sure it involves our cast in some way. Alright, have a lovely week everyone, I'll see you soon.

August 27, 2006 :: I'm leaving for vacation in about an hour, so I hope you all have a nice week or two till I get back Check the Myspace blog for details. Also- I have a feeling that Ben will be updating some fun filler strips while I'm gone. Kristen and I'll be in Toronto for the next few days, then it's off to Manitoulin Island for a week. No electricity, no running water, no nothing. We'll be back to our usual antics soon, so until then- comb your hair, brush your teeth, and don't forget to floss. WORD. Much love.

August 23, 2006 :: Ben finally put the nail in the coffin with my aversion to DeviantArt, so I got a profile too. Word. I like the robot hands too. For one reason or another, I didn't get a comic done for today. Ben will be in charge of comics for a week or so until I get back on the 6th. So next next Wednesday? Something like that. I'll write again before I leave.

August 23, 2006 :: So I've been doing a bunch of extra credit assignments lately, including writing a short story / comic about how eventually only women and robots will be left on earth. Which is probably why so many many men are terrified of both. I also got us listed on wikipedia, so go add to the article, eh? Anyway, here's a little tearsheet from my sketchbook for you to see. It's a close-up on the hands that I've designed for the robots in my head. Oh and go check out some other work of mine at deviantart.com - a very cool website. Cheers!

August 21, 2006 :: Hello everyone! So I got pinkeye sometime in the last week, and my eye is gross. See if you can
guess which one is the infected one. It sucks. I just spent $80 today on a teeny tiny little thing of antibiotic drops for it. The good news is that the swelling is almost all the way down, and my eye is returning to a semi-white color. The drawback is that since it's a bacterial infection, I had to wash friggin everything- sheets, clothes, towels, etc. I had to clean all of our doorhandles, knobs, remotes, glasses, bottles, ANYTHING that I'd touched over the last few days, and I'm using hand sanitizer like it's going out of style. I really hope Kristen doesn't get it. I had to get up 5 times last night to clean my eye because it had glued itself closed with goop. Nasty! I did get some gnarly pictures though. On a lighter note, I'll be leaving for Canada next sunday, so I'll use my sick days to bust out enough comics to hold you over while I'm kickin' it in the Great White North. Hope you like Condomball, We're contacting ESPN 8 "The Ocho" to see if they'll pick it up tuesday afternoons. Right after Midget Eating and Hampter Stuffing. Love it!

August 16, 2006 :: Hooray for new templates!!! Sorry for getting the comic up a little late, but I always do a better job when it's not 3 in the morning, and I'm rushing through it. Ben came up with the new comic format today, it looks badass! We've been through a couple templates in the last month but bear with us, we just want the site as accessable and nice-looking as possible. Hope you all have been enjoying the latest and greatest scripts and drawings. We're really on a roll! Also- I wanna give a shout out to a fan at K&S Menswear in Muncie, IN. Jason ran into him by chance a few days ago. WORD. Keep that Menswear fresh, and thanks for the support. laters.

August 14, 2006 :: Well I'm back from a lovely week in Illinois with 68 teenagers. Today's comic might be my favorite so far. I sat and read through about 30 new scripts that Ben sent me while I was gone, and about pissed my pants they're so funny. We've got some AWESOME stuff ahead... but for now, we needed to squeeze in a brokeback joke before it's too late. Better Late than never.... more to come on Wednesday!

August 10, 2006 :: So while Amory's gone I've had to fend for myself and make the horrible comics that you see this week. If I was a little bit more
adept at illustration like Amory, I might give it a shot, but alas, I am not. However, I've been oozing out a very large quatity of scripts for you all to enjoy, so get ready for a lot more comic excitement! Oh, and we really want to hear from you all, so go over to the myspace page and leave us some comments, or send us naked pictures or something! In fact, I'll pay cash money for the first boob-shot that says "I heart RR" written on said boobage. It's now a contest and a race. Yay!

August 4, 2006 :: Okay, so it wasn't up till 4:30, but I wanted to make it good enough to last a week. What do you think about the new format? It's subtle, but I like it. I'll see you all a week from Monday! Take care.

August 3, 2006 :: I'll have Friday's comic up by Noon, I've got to work on it in the morning. Getting ready to go to Marwood, I leave Saturday morning, so you'll have to wait a week for new comics. We'll start a new comic story then. I've changed the format of the comic just a tad. People were having a hard time following the story line, and I think it's because the comic titles are too small in the bottom left. I'm moving them to the top, as you'll see on today's comic, and bumping up the size. On a funnier note, I arrived home from work tonight to find "Girl's Night" underway with Kristen, her sister Jessie, and our friend Sarah. Even as I am typing this, I am being asked advice about how guys think, as some of you guys might know the "...here's the situation: my boyfriend....." etc. I don't mind being honest, but I just wanna type my blog! Haha.

July 31, 2006 :: I laughed the loudest when Ben sent me the writing for this comic. It's by far the funniest of the Ninja/Pirate saga. I also like it because I get to use one of my favorite words to describe it: "ENTENDRE." Double, that is. Ahh, it's so rare that I get to use that word. Anyway, the story is working out to the finale on Friday. Then I think I'm going to take a week break while I'm at camp, then come back to some fresh comics on Monday, August 14th. I updated the the pics in the Character section to more up-to-date faces. My style has evolved so much since I got the Wacom tablet, that everyone's "newer versions" are now available. I find out later today who won the Heartland Film Fest poster contest, and I've gone from biting my nails to chewing the skin around where my nails used to be. I could really use the dough, and the recognition. Regardless, it's a good new piece for my portfolio. Still saving up for that amoryabbott.com domain name, until then I think I'll have Ben just put it on the RR website, if he ever gets around to integrating my images with the main page. *hint-hint* haha. See you all on the flipside.

July 26, 2006 :: This is getting way too fun. I asked myself earlier: "How often do you catch yourself thinking about new and creative ways for your friends to kill eachother?" Sadly, my response was: "more often than I'd like to admit..." It's actually pretty scary how often I imagine Kristen crushing Matt's skull with an iron mallet, or Ben ripping out Zane's heart and eating it... maybe with a side of steak sauce, or
dijon mustard. Just kidding, I love everything... Including the new comics.

July 24, 2006 :: Today's comic is pretty ruthless, we plan on the battles being like the "Spy vs. Spy" comics, but way more brutal. I'm really having fun with our face-off ideas, so keep up with the story. The RR Myspace page is pretty awesome, and since the forum was tossed, we finally have a place for people to converse. Anyway, stay tuned for more Pirate and Ninja action!

July 19, 2006 :: Added a new link to the Rogue Robot MySpace page. It seems that everyone else is doing it, so I guess it was inevitable. Yay for peer pressure! In other news, I recently learned that I have the ability to fly.

July 16, 2006 :: I actually finished a comic 2 days before it's running date. Oh I'm good... yeah right. Anyway, the new series is out just in time for the release of Pirates of the Caribbean, which Kristen and I saw last night. It was actually really good, just as good as the first, and sets up the third movie really well. New baddies, new plot twists, and tons of fun. So go see it! Moday's comic and it's continuing story line is based off the rivalry between Pirates and Ninjas. This centuries-long war is known best in the realm of
Real Ultimate Power. But you can also find it here, alive and kicking (pun intended) as the Rogue Robot house is divided, alliegences are made, and blood is spilled. Stay with us as the dramatic story unfolds!

July 14, 2006 :: Kristen's MRI came back normal, so there's a sigh of relief that it's not a tumor or a blood clot. She's gotta go see a Neurologist now to talk about migraine prevention/treatment, and if she may have had a minor stroke. Things are still up in the air, but we've ruled out the really bad stuff.
And finally we see the illustrated product of Ben's moody ramblings on the new Mac commercials. I actually rather enjoy the commercials and find them entertaining, funny, and sarcastically witty. However- I identify with the Mac guy, and that's just what they want. I like it, but I can see how it annoys anyone else that's not an artistic open-minded free-thinker from the Pepsi Generation. (Including Ben's nerdier, and more sensitive side) And here I thought God's "Ben Complex" would totally jump on the "Fuck you, I rule." Bandwagon that Macintosh has been convoying since the mid 80s. Regardless, Ben rocks, I love the comic idea, and love poking fun at Mac, even thought I totally wish I had one instead of my beast of a Toshiba. Honestly folks, I like the commercials because I want to be cool, and I would be... if I only had a Mac.
I like the part in Dodgeball when the Mac gets hit in the face with a wrench.
Ben is back people, and we've got some AWESOME comics coming up. Stay tuned, we'll get rolling on Monday.

July 13, 2006 :: Sorry I didn't get wednesday's comic up, Kristen had a bad migraine yesterday and we spent the whole day at the doctor. She's getting an MRI today at the hosital to check if the partial blindness she had yesterday was a symptom of a stroke, a tumor, blood clots, or just a bad migraine. Scary scary shit. so anyway, I'll be working on Wednesday's comic today for Friday. Keep your fingers crossed for Kristen, and we'll see you back tomorrow.

July 11, 2006 :: Have you seen those Mac/PC commercials? The ones with the hip young mac guy and the nerdy PC guy? Yeah.
I really fucking HATE those. See, I'm a dual-platform guy. I see the advantages of both, and I also see that the line between the two is getting thinner day by day. However, the whole Apple concept of marketing is very condescending towards its consumers. Take the commercial where the cocky mac fag is tooting his horn about being able to run Windows; The reality behind that statement has nothing to do with Apple's developments WHATSOEVER! It took a handful of diehard nerds that hacked the shit out of a new intel mac, and
replacing not only the OS, but the bios as well to be
able to run PC software, but Apple is spinning it like they made it so that macs can easily run Windows. I'm a stickler for giving credit where credit is due, and I want to murder those who take credit for others actions. Apple, you just lost a good customer (who's also responsible for recomendations for 7 states design technology allocations). Besides, could they try to be a little more insulting to 90% of people who don't own a mac? Bad move, dickheads.

July 10, 2006 :: Got you covered, buddy. Sing it with me--- "Lean on me, when you're not strong, and I'll be your friend... I'll help you carry on. For it won't be long... 'Til I'm gonna need.. Somebody to lean on." Now just the ladies... okay, now the guys.... okay now everybody one more time all together.
P.S.- thanks for the new material. You rock!

July 10, 2006 :: CRAP!! I totally did a very dumbass thing and accidentally overwrote the current index file for the site. In its place I saved the index for the State Fair website. That means everything we've written the last 2 weeks or so has been lost. Yessir, I'm retarded. The good news is that We have a radical new story line, uh, lined up. So, uh, sorry Amory for erasing your blogs forever. I'm an idiot.

July 10, 2006 :: So I've been out for over a week, moving up to the new apartment, and getting situated. Got my computer desk all set up, internet service transferred, fresh toilet paper, and everything is good. Ben technically hasn't sent me material since June 14th, so I'm pulling out all the stops, and you can expect my own writing until Ben gets funny again, or thinks of some funny story lines, or at least does something, no matter how small, that has anything to do with Rogue Robot. Dang! On another note- Kristen and I saw Superman Returns, and totally loved it. Lots of claps for that one. Next stop- Pirates of the Carribean, and then Spiderman 3... well, next spring... And on my last note- what's up with the Webcomic list? I miss 4 comics in a row, and we get the closest placing to the top then we've ever gotten before. I should skip comics more often... Just kidding, I love you all, my wonderful, deadly army of Rogue Robotiers. See you all on Wednesday.

June 30, 2006 :: Ben still hasn't sent me squat for new material, so I'm copping out again for today. Mind you, I came up with a couple good ones this week, but my writing just lacks that Ben pizzaz. Ben's comics are tasteless and borderline disturbing, but altogether hilarious. Mine usually end in voilence or slapstick and are just good for a laugh or two. Anyways, I know you're all wondering- "where does Amory get those wonderful pictures of animals screwing, and what do I have to do to get in on the action?" Well friends, I'll tell you where, and free of charge! just go to
Zoofur and pick your favorite category (mine is interspecies! dog on cat, elephant on rhino, monkey on boar, etc.) AWESOME.
We've got a guest strip coming up by
Josh Johnson, a good friend and amazing illustrator. Check out his portfolio, and keep your eyes peeled, his comic will be up soon. Kristen and I are moving next monday, 3 floors up in my building to apartment 911! I think I'll tell everyone it's my patriotism and compassion for the WTC attack that made me change apartments, and not that I need a bigger place. In my present living area, I have to sit crosslegged on the floor with the wacom tablet in my lap, and my computer on a blanket crate (which doubles as our coffee table) to draw each comic. The new place will be big enough for my computer desk and life will be good. Right now, after each comic, my knees hurt like I just finished the worlds longest hummer. Sore like the dickins!!! Laters.

June 26, 2006 :: Ben still hasn't sent me any new material, so I apologize if today's comic isn't very funny. I've been over to Ben's the last couple days helping him do some drywall work. I rewrote the dialogue in the 3rd frame about 10 different times. It was originally going to say something about reprogramming the robot to search for jimmy hoffa, and we'd split the reward money, but it didn't fit with the robot standing in a desert. Good to see the robot again though, eh? If you want more crazy storylines from Ben, go to our webcomiclist profile and let us know, give him something to write about! Word!

June 19, 2006 :: Meh, I couldn't help myself, and also Ben Hasn't sent me any new material.

June 16, 2006 :: Wow, have I been falling off the map or what? I've been very late in getting comic ideas and scripts to Amory because of work and other commitments. Mainly my commitment to alcoholism. I've also been in a very braindead state of mind, and all I could come up with a take-off on the Big Lebowski, where Amory's dunking my head in the toilet screaming, "Where's the comic, Lebowski?" See, you don't want to see that low grade crap on your favorite comic now, do ya? Oh, and if you live in the western hemisphere, go to Art vs. Art. OR DIE!!!

June 14, 2006 :: For those who don't know who Jason Robards is, look
HERE. Don't feel stupid, I had to look too when Ben sent me the script. The original script also had Jason saying at the end- "not as disturbing as thinking of your own grandma" but I changed it to "Aunt Mildred" because in the comic, Jason and I are brothers. There you go with another inside scoop for all that infamous Rogue Robot Trivia out there.

June 12, 2006 :: Yo! Today's comic is the first one I've written in a while, probably since last fall. Anyway, Ben's coming up with more phenominal story lines and hilarious strips, so in the meantime, today's is based on a conversation Kristen and I had on Saturday, involving huge boobs and how to manage them. We'll be back on Wednesday to cover more of the Myspace movement, and on that note, if you're on Myspace, see if you can find us! We're people too, and like regular people, we vainly share ourselves with total strangers, searching for approval from millions of people we will never meet, and probably would never want to meet. This anonymous recognition
is verification that we the insignificant specks of dust on the shiny surface of time, are worthy of the legendary status of being on someone's "top 8." But regardless, my biggest problem with Myspace is that I can't decide what my profile song should be... "Call to Arms" by Manowar, or "Holy Diver" by DIO? Help, anyone?

June 9, 2006 :: Uh, yeah...
This is disturbing.

June 5, 2006 :: Hey there everyone, it's been a while since I posted. I'm lovin the new linework, total awesomeness. Anyway, Art vs. Art was this weekend, and Kristen and I both painted on Saturday. go to the
Art vs. Art website and vote for our paintings! Numbers 66 and 67! Then come to the big event on Friday, June 16th, 8pm at the Fountain Square Theater and watch me defend my title! Until then, feel sorry for Ben who's truck got totalled a few days ago, then feel happy for me because I finished and handed over the illustrations for my first published children's book artwork, for a book written by a local author. Then feel sorry for my cat Dexter who was diagnosed with FIV- Feline AIDS on friday. Then feel happy for Ben because he gets to buy a new truck... one without the need for a sharpee marker gear shift. Then get pumped for Tuesday the 6th--- 06/06/06... DAY OF THE
BEAST.

May 22, 2006 :: In case you missed it, we got famous...ish? There's no direct link to it but go
here and click the "launch player" link to see Rogue Robot's SPACE coverage in Columbus Alive! In addition to the video clip, Amory was also quoted at the end of the story which you can see
here. Also, be sure to check out my ass
here.

May 22, 2006 :: So Check it out- I revamped my swatch plate for coloring the comic, and tried outlining with a shade of each fill color, instead of black lines.... what do you think? I thought so! Also, yesterday was our 1 year anniversary of starting the Rogue Robot Webcomic. I can't believe it's been a year already, the comic has really come a long way. Anyway, thanks for reading everyone.
I think this deserves a phrase of epic proportions: "OHHH DAAAANG!"

May 18, 2006 :: Sorry folks, no comic for Friday, I've had WAY too much stuff going on the last couple days, so I'm sorry, okay?!? GOD! You'll get your fixxx on monday, so quit'chr bitch'n. Especially you Ben! BEN!
BENNNN!!!!! Oh, and for you Amory uber-fans out there, here's the first comp of my
Illustration website. It'll be up and running soon. And on a personal and special note- mad props to Ben for getting it coded and promoted, sup-po-ted and ret-o-ded. on the fizzie. talk to you all soon, top 200! You've just been put to bed by the A-Piece.

May 16, 2006 :: I hope he hasn't left yet.

May 16, 2006 :: I'm going to be putting up a S.P.A.C.E. page soon so that we can fully give a wrapup from the show, so keep an eye open. Also, due to popular demand, I'll be putting up a few more editions of Checkeye and Peanut in this section here, not with the regular comic. More big news is that we are moving to a more substantial server, with great big testicles. It gives us the power of greyskull and everything. Yay! Seriously, give l'il Blanco some props for hooking us up. So if you come by soon and the site's a screwball mess, don't worry, it's just flippity-flopping. Oh, and I'm frigging super-mega-happy-fun-tokyo! Turns out, the fence that I've got in my side yard that needs replacing is not on the property line. It turns out that instead of being 3 foot from the side of my house, the line is more like 9 feet! I know it doesn't sound that big a deal, but when you consider that we will have a useable side yard with 2500-3500 more square feet, it rocks hardcore! Time to shopping for a pool, or maybe just a picnic table. YAY!

May 15, 2006 :: So we got back from the S.P.A.C.E. expo saturday night, it was awesome. got lots of good feedback, met tons of new artists, and got a good feel for the industry. word. I'd post a picture of our booth, but all of my photos are blurry. stoopid flash. graaarrr. Anyways, 250 is a pretty good placing on the Webcomic list, and I'm hoping we'll continue our "favorites of" growth on there. ZI think we've got 17 people right now. ahh.... 17 souls.... yet we still hunger.....

May 10, 2006 :: Has anyone ever seen the show, "Becker"? It was, in my opinion, the finest show on television. Why? Because it taught us all that we can can be equal opportunity haters, regardless of race, religion, or whatever. For example, I have two black neighbors on either side of my house. One is the sweetest old lady who spends her time pruning her garden. The other is a rental crammed with 38 degenerates living in it. Now, do I think they're degenerates because they're black? No. I KNOW they're degenerates because they steal my garbage cans, among other things. Unfortunately, "Becker" was cancelled due to the dumb shit public prefering to watch the retards on "friends" than the raw truth. I hope that my life doesn't suffer the same fate, and lose the public's interest, but I fear that it will. So far, I'm faking it pretty well, but I'm about to let loose. So watch the fuck out. Fucking hippies.

May 3, 2006 :: I hate to brag... Ah, who am I kidding, I love to brag. Check this out, I'm pretty proud of it. It's a t-shirt design for a girl's shirt for a heart health awareness group. See a bunch more in the forums.

May 2, 2006 :: You ever take one of those trips to the store where you have 1 or 2 specific things you have to get, but there's a million other little things you just can't remember, but you know as soon as you pull into the garage, they'll all come flooding back you. You don't know what I mean? Well, Amory does, cause I made him come with me to one of my Wal-Mart wanderings. We went in to buy a red tablecloth for the show next weekend, and wound up buying all sorts of other crap, like british candy bars and furnace filters, but didn't get the tablecloth. That's sorta what my life's like right now. I equate it to setting off a circuit breaker during the middle of the day - there's still light, but everything else isn't working right. I think that work and the house have burnt me the fork out. Anyway, I was looking at the webcomic list, checking out our neighbors and found some fantastic work:
Fabricari and
Malfunction Junction. Take a gander, they be kickin'.

April 29, 2006 :: So in under one week, we've gone from 1184 to 486 on the webcomic list placing. Friggin awesome. We're actually getting exposure, and our all-time high number of 436 unique monthly visitors in January has jumped to 640 this month, and we've still got 2 days left. On a separate note, I'm going to start next week's comic (and new mini-series) with a taller comic format, I'm going to make the comic template a little taller, to fit the text in a little easier, and space out the comic area of the homepage. If you look at other webcomics, they're a little taller than ours, take up more screen space, etc. I wanna be just like them. The main reason is because I'm having trouble squeezing ben's ocassional dialogue-heavy writing into the frame without making the images super-tiny.

April 28, 2006 :: So I'm getting kind of sick, coughing, etc. However, aside from some bank issues, I had a good day yesterday, I got my brand-spankin new track bike delivered. I'm trying to think of a good name for it, preferrably a girl's name. Like... Elise or Sophie, or something french and sexy since it's a french bike.
Here's a pic.
Hope you all have been enjoying the comic lately, I'm really getting into it, especially the little extra things I can do with the Wacom tablet. I'm getting uber-pumped about the Expo in Columbus in 2 weeks. Ben got the pin-on buttons in the mail last week, I've yet to see them, but I hear that they're totally sweet. I've gotta get out to the airport to give Hertz Auto Rentals a piece of my mind. If you're curious, check out my
blog, it explains everything.
Well, not everything, but you get the idea. Later.

April 26, 2006 :: Have you guys been checking out the steadily declining comic number for RR on the webcomic list? Dude, we be smokin' up the charts! At this rate we'll be into the negatives by next week! Also, dont forget to vote for us, too. Oh, and you new people really need to get on the forum. There's going to be freebees, dammit.

April 26, 2006 :: Aside from being one of my favorites so far (composition, coloring, etc.) the Poker Chip comic is actually a little run-in that Matt and Zane had last year. In reality it took place at Matt's grandma's house, and It didn't end up with Zane getting an ass full of chips, but Matt did manage to get beer stains on his grandmother's carpet, as well as knock poker chips everywhere. I think that's the only time I've ever heard of Matt actually getting mad about something. Just goes to show how hardcore serious poker tournaments can be. If you ask me, I think it's a complete waste of time and money. The whole competition aspect of it could be solved much easier by just having everyone whip out their dicks, and compare sizes. The biggest wins. In the case of our friends, Ben would win, Zane would be last, and Matt would be disqualified for not having any balls. He wears his granny's bathrobe, for chrissake!... Well, at least I draw him wearing one (c'mon, the floral print is funny!).I don't play these games, but for the sake of good humor, let's just say I'd be living "large" at the MGM Grand, and would need a forklift to play my own version of texas "hold-em."...... what!? I can dream, can't I?

April 21, 2006 :: So I was checking out some of the stats for RR, seeing where a lot of the hits came from, and I see that a few have come from an "artist" for a webcomic called "Biscuits for Breakfast". Anyway, here's what he wrote:
We've got a new feature here at Biscuits for Breakfast called the "Webcomics Roundup." Basically, I will feature the five webcomics ahead of mine in the Buzzcomix ranking at any given time, and determine whether or not they're worthy of being ahead of my comic in said ranking. If you people keep voting for me, I'll be able to keep making these things, so if this doesn't turn out to be funny, you'd better not vote for me or else I'll keep making them and you'll be sad.
1 - Rogue Robot by Amory Abbot and Ben Roe.
The art on this comic is okay... I'm having trouble seeing the hook, though. I mean, it's funny, but it's not "I would ever actually laugh at this" funny. Kind of a mediocre caricature of all college-student webcomics in general. My comic is funnier.
I checked out
his comic and, well, I'll let you make up your own mind. However, I guess this is my point; We do this comic for free and for fun. This is Amory's and my art and we're putting it out there so people can have a
titter. Oh well, I guess this is what was inevitable when they started giving internet access to the rhesus house.
Oh, and I took the duck hunt thing down cause it the sound was driving me bonkers, but you can find it
here.

April 19, 2006 :: The first "Bumsense" comic was fun. I left the gray sketch lines in it to show the first step of my inking process. I basically doodle the comic on a blank page that's the same size as the strip. That's with a gray brush. Then I clean it up with black lines on another layer. If I was coloring the comic, that would be the next step. I've got all day off tomorrow, so I'll be knocking out the last two parts of "Bumsense." Hope you like it. Duck hunt was my favorite game on the 8 Bit. Till I disassembled the gun and removed the cord so I could play toy guns and have the coolest gun. Then I figured out the Negative Level 1 warp in Super Mario, and was hooked. Don't you just love swimming the same short level over and over until the clock runs out? Now that's sheer 80's creativity. On a separate note, I've started plans to build a custom fixed-wheel track bike. So far I've got handlebars.

April 17, 2006 :: Hey there folks! This week is Black & White Week at Rogue Robot. No, no, no, not Racial Segregation Week.... that was last week. Anyway, I'm going to do an
unheard of 5 comics this week, all black and white. Monday thru Friday. The coloring is easier on them, so I have time to do more. I'll be playing around with different B&W styles, so let us know which one you like the most. And to all you unfamiliars out there, join the Forum! It's fun! It's exciting! It's a great place to meet people who want the same thing you want! And that is- Something to look at online while you're giving your already beaten raw boner a five minute rest! Our new tagline could be: "Rogue Robot- the only worthwhile alternative to internet Porn." Like it? PROVE IT. Catch you on the flipside.

April 16, 2006 :: I'm down in Bloomington tonight, so I'm not going to have a comic up until monday night. Sorry, just don't throw a hissy fit. You'll get your fixxx..... WORD.

April 14, 2006 ::
This one's just for Amory since he helped me get 3 bizillion pounds of garbage from my backyard to the dump.

April 8, 2006 :: So I'm starting some cheap and easy adverts down the right side of the page. It's not much, just a little Google adsense. In the end, it might be enough to buy Amory and I a free beer, but hell, free is free, so check out some the wonderful advertisements. OH, also, I set up a little cash to advertise WITH Google too, so if you see one of our ads, be sure to let us know where you saw it and we'll send you free stuff. Really! Ok, that's a lie.

April 5, 2006 :: Like today's Comic? GOOD! Check out the new graphic I cut out on my griptape...Creeper Style!

And if you're wondering, that's the tip of my slipper on the left, and the handle tips of a pair of pliers on the right. And for those of you who really need help, that's my skateboard in the middle.Thought I'd make that clear before fans start getting all riled up and arguing about what they are. We don't want another Trekkie incident on our hands.

April 3, 2006 :: Hey, we've been parodied, or something like that... At present we have no idea who this is, and we're not sure if we're being made fun of or not. What I do know, is that my job is bearing down on me with gritted teeth and I got up this morning hoping that our building was blown away in the big storms last night. Sadly, our building was spared. I'm going to be posting some cool design stuff in the forums later, so check them out and gimme some feedback, or I'll hurt ya.

April 1, 2006 ::The last week of comics have all been done with my new 9x12 Wacom Tablet! I've cut out the entire paper/blue pencil/ink process, as I am now sketching and inking the comic in Photoshop. Word! So this coming week is a 3-part series based on a true story. It's got pretty much all of our comic characters, including the Robot, but is focused on our friend Ryan Checkeye, a large quantity of Pudding, and the cost of that large quantity of Pudding. If you're wondering who Checkeye is, check the new "Characters" section of the website, for mini-bios of all of your favorites. After this next week, I'll be quitting all work for Rogue Robot. Ben is an asshole, and has lost all of my respect, as well as any shred of chance of staying my friend. He can rot in Hell.......... APRIL FOOLS!!!!!! Just kidding. I'm here for good, and Ben.... I love you. In a purely like-a-brother, no-funny-business kind of way. And about that other stuff- don't tell Michelle, and I won't say anything to Kristen.AH HA HA!!!!!! Fooled you all again... Suckers.

March 26, 2006 :: Oh, hell yes! Today goes down in history! Two great things happened today: 1) after all the toiling that Michelle and I have gone through to rebuild the kitchen in our house, we finished installing the cabinets without causing any real damage. AND... 2) I got into the beta for Auto Assault! Fo sheezy, I be playing tha shizzle fo the whole nite, yo! PLUS, we went back up in popularity on the webcomic list. To quote the magestic Ice Cube, "I didn't even have to use my AK, I gotta say it was a good day."

March 25, 2006 :: Well, it’s the kind of hawk I like. I’m not in to the shaved bald sides, unless it’s Mr. T and I ain’t talkin no jibba-jabba when I say that I do NOT look like the T, I could never be that handsome or rugged. I’d get rrrrrangled if I even tried. So here’s my jam:
March 24, 2006 :: When I first heard "Let's get Retarded" I was hooked. Then they sold it to the NBA and changed it to "Let's get it Started". I could let that slide, even. But the decent into complete commercialization would not cease. Apple, T-Mobile, Honda... the list keeps going and going. AND, their music's been dog shit lately too. In fact,
is the straw the broke my humps.
March 22, 2006 :: Ben and I just unpacked the 9x12 Wacom tablet I got, and have been screwing around with it for the last hour or so, and it's suffice to say that it's the greatest thing ever since boobs were invented. I've soiled myself in about 7 different ways so far, and I can't wait for more. I'll be messing with the tablet on the next few comics, so bear with me for the next month or so, as I'll be conditioning myself to the pen tool. I'm so pumped I think I'll kick my cat in the face.
once. Swear to god.
March 22, 2006 :: I found this version of the Modern "Raven" by Poe. I just had to share it.
Once upon a midnight dreary, while i porn surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of 'xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour. "'Tis not possible!", I muttered, "Give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
March 22, 2006 :: So I added some more shit. One thing is these sweet ass little blog headers for me and the A-Bomb. The little inner scroller thing in this area is pretty sweet too. Now, I'm a huge fan of firefox, but here's one thing that it's lacking... In IE, you can change the look of the scroller-dealy. But not in Firefox. FOR SHAME!!! More to come, assfaces! P.S. Amory didn't write this, but I wanted to test out his little head image thing.
March 21, 2006 :: Hey, wouldja look at that? There's a little dropdown menu over there. ===> I wonder what that is? Could it be? Yes, Amory, I'm giving you what you want, sucka! Behold the mighty new, um.. dropdown thingy. Now you can surf the 'mix. Enjoy.
March 20, 2006 :: So, RR is undergoing a few little changes. For one, I'm thinking about killing off the forum. It's nothing but trouble. I'm also bringing back some of the older things that we've been missing, such as this blogging space right here (considering Amory can figure it out this time :P), and linky shit in the columns to your left and right. As you might have noticed, the new RR title has replaced the old one, as well as a few minor upgrades, such as the characters section. As far as the writing goes, we're going to be reintroducing some older characters, and re-evolving our current ones. So keep a sharp eye peeled for the ever changing Rogue Robot.
March 19, 2006 :: I’m back ya’ll! Okay, it’s been over a week since my birthday. Lots been going on, and I’m sorry for not doing a wednesday or friday comic, but I was away from internet and scanners last week. Down in Bloomington helping my Mom install new flooring in their kitchen. Looks, good, and got to see my Dad too. My Mom and Step-Dad decided to get me an early Christmas present, So with their check deposited, I ordered a 9×12 Wacom Tablet!!!! WORD, the comic will be getting a facelift as soon I get my bearings with it. For those of you who don’t know what a Wacom Tablet is, check THIS out for all the info you can handle! Hope everyone is doing well, my average fanbase of 9 people. I got Kristen some vintage rollerskates for her birthday and she got me a skateboard. It’s funny skating again, I hadn’t touched a board in about 4 years, but I took my first ride to work yesterday and I admit I really missed it. I still super-rusty. I tried to power slide to a stop yesterday and almost flung my board into heavy traffic. The other cool thing is the company that made my deck is monkey skateboards and They’ve got a Gary Baseman painting printed on it. Check it out. That’s all for now, Kristen cut my hair into a badass mohawk lastnight, I’ll have a picture of it tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned for more….
March 9, 2006 :: Word. So I’m like- “you Mutha Naycha, why don’t you get down on some biblical type sheeit on my birfday, fo sho!” And she be all- “one love, son! I’ll hook you up on the breezy.” An’ I be like- “Oh snap! Easy breezy covergirl, mah jigga! let get this beeitch poppa-crackin, Kid!” So she’s all Mafioso an’ gets it rainin all heavy an’ sheeit, like there wuz a big ol’ flood on the get-fresh tip godd! WORD!
That was a conversation I had earlier today with Mother Nature VERBATIM. for real. It’s been pouring rain all day, and it’s still comin down! Apparently it’s not going to stop until the day after tomorrow. ( oh dang! ) Indianapolis is under a flood warning, and it’s all thanks to me! After all that I was like- “Fuck, now I have to walk home from work.”
March 9, 2006 :: So today is my 26th Birthday, and I don’t have much planned. I only got about 3 solid hours of sleep last night, and then 2 hours of hitting the snooze for Kristen, only to have her just keep sleeping. I don’t fall right back asleep after the snooze, oh well. Anyways, today is my day. I’m going to the bike store to get an estimate on parts and time to strip down my mountain bike and turn it into a single speed free-wheel with just a back hand brake. I’m still on the look out for a lighter frame, but taking all the unnecessary parts off will help out now. Not so clunky. After that, I’ve got to be at work at noon for a short 5 hour shift, then it’s back home for relaxation, maybe a nap, work on tomorrow’s comic, and I think I’ll watch a movie. Maybe ride down to the grocery and get some sushi or some tasty soup. Indianapolis has really warmed up the last few days, it’s almost 60 out right now, and it’s supposed to be even warmer tomorrow. Too bad it’s gloomy and drizzly. It’s alright though, because I don’t get static-zapped every time I touch something in my apartment now that the humidity is up. I’m blabbering on, so i’m going to go. Happy birthday to me, I’ve already got an e-mail from Marissa this morning, and I’m looking forward to talking to everyone. My dad got me a sweet wireless notebook mouse and I’ve been taking it everywhere. I think I’m going to have my mom pay for a dentist and eyeglass apointment for my birthday, both are long overdue. Either that or an external hard drive to back up all my stuff. Anyway, that’s about all, I think I’m going to draw for a little while. I haven’t doodled in a long time. I’m not wasting a second of time today!
March 8, 2006 :: Okay, it’s gone. but before we put it to rest, here’s the last picture, at five weeks:
If you want to see the picture of me and my poor attept at a Zorro-stache, take a look at this
. See you all tomorrow while I’m busy turning 26.
